Our experience
Kylesku Bridge, Sutherland
After driving for a while, I eventually came across Kylesku Bridge and decided to stop for a little break. There isn't a huge amount here, but the scenery makes it well worth pulling over if you have the time.
A Scenic Break
I stopped off for some snacks and a cup of tea, finding a nice spot to sit and enjoy the view.
After spending some time on the road, it was actually really nice to stop for a few minutes, have a drink and simply take in the Highland scenery around the bridge.
The Views
Kylesku Bridge sits in a beautiful part of Sutherland, surrounded by lochs and mountains, and the scenery is the main reason to stop here.
It's not somewhere you need to spend hours exploring. For me, it was simply a chance to take a break from driving, have something to eat and enjoy the view before getting back on the road.
What I Liked Most
I liked the simplicity of the stop.
There wasn't a long walk or a list of things I needed to see. I could pull over, have my snacks and a cup of tea and enjoy the scenery around Kylesku Bridge.
Sometimes that's exactly what you need during a long road trip.
Would I Visit Again?
Yes.
I'd definitely stop at Kylesku Bridge again when travelling through the area. It makes a great little break during a long drive, especially when the weather is good and the surrounding landscape is looking its best.
Wildly Wandering Rating
4/5
Kylesku Bridge isn't a place where you'll spend an entire afternoon, but it's a beautiful scenic stop that's well worth taking a few minutes for if you're passing through.
Wildly Wandering Recommendation
If you're travelling the NC500 and have some spare time, pull over at Kylesku Bridge. Grab a drink, have a snack and enjoy the views before continuing your journey.
Wildly Wandering tip: Don't feel like you need to plan a big visit here. It's a great place for a quick scenic break and a chance to stretch your legs during a long drive.
