About A' Chailleach (Monadhliath)

A' Chailleach is a peaceful Munro rising above Newtonmore in the remote Monadhliath mountains. Its broad, rounded summit and sweeping grassy slopes offer expansive views across Badenoch, the Cairngorms and surrounding Highland wilderness. Often climbed alongside Càrn Sgulain and Càrn Dearg, the mountain forms part of an adventurous circuit through quiet glens and open moorland. With its traditional Gaelic name meaning The Old Woman, A' Chailleach combines Highland folklore, tranquillity and rewarding mountain scenery.
