About Am Faochagach
Am Faochagach rises to 954 metres within the remote Highland wilderness near Ullapool, surrounded by expansive peatlands, rolling moorland and isolated mountain scenery. Its broad, rounded summit offers sweeping views across the northern Highlands, rewarding walkers who tackle its notoriously boggy approach. The route from Dirrie Mòr crosses waterlogged ground, deep peat hags and largely pathless terrain. Despite its relatively gentle slopes, challenging navigation, exposed conditions and remarkable remoteness make Am Faochagach a demanding mountain adventure.
