About Aonach Beag (Alder)
Aonach Beag rises in the remote Ben Alder mountains, linking the sweeping summits of Geal Chàrn and Beinn Èibhinn. Its Gaelic name means Little Ridge, although its summit stands well above a thousand metres. The rounded crest commands impressive views over Loch Ossian, Ben Alder and the surrounding wilderness. Often climbed alongside Càrn Dearg and its two ridge neighbours, this Munro rewards the long journey with spacious high ground, quiet corries and memorable Highland scenery.
