About Beinn Dearg (Blair Atholl)
Beinn Dearg rises north of Blair Atholl in the remote Forest of Atholl, its broad granite summit standing above sweeping moorland and quiet glens. The route from Old Bridge of Tilt passes through woodland, follows estate tracks and visits the welcoming Allt Scheicheachan bothy before climbing onto open hillsides. Rounded pink granite boulders crown the summit, where walkers enjoy extensive views towards Beinn a' Ghlò, Glen Tilt and the distant Cairngorms especially on clear days.
