About Beinn Iutharn Mhòr

Beinn Iutharn Mhòr rises at the head of remote Glen Ey, among the rolling hills of the southern Cairngorms. Its sweeping ridge curves above steep scree slopes, with views towards Càrn Bhac, An Socach and the mountains surrounding Braemar. The approach passes along a quiet estate track to the ruins of Altanour Lodge before climbing wild moorland. Often combined with Càrn Bhac, this secluded Munro rewards walkers with solitude, rugged scenery and an adventurous journey.
