About Beinn Mheadhoin
Beinn Mheadhoin stands deep within the Cairngorms, surrounded by vast plateaux, steep corries and the waters of Loch Avon. Its remote summit is crowned by enormous weathered granite tors, the highest reached by a short scramble. The approach through the dramatic Loch Avon basin passes beneath towering cliffs and the famous Shelter Stone. Views stretch towards Cairn Gorm, Ben Macdui and distant Highland ridges, making this one of Scotland's most memorable and impressive mountain journeys.
