About Ben Avon
Ben Avon stretches across the eastern Cairngorms, where a vast high plateau is scattered with extraordinary weathered granite tors. Its highest point, Leabaidh an Daimh Bhuidhe, rises above remote glens and is reached by a short scramble onto rock. The long approach through Gleann an t-Slugain passes pinewoods, old tracks and open moorland. From the summit, walkers enjoy beautiful, expansive views towards Beinn a' Bhùird, distant Highland mountains and the wild surrounding Cairngorm plateau.
