About Càrn an Fhìdhleir (Càrn Ealar)

Càrn an Fhìdhleir stands in remote country between the Cairngorms and the Atholl hills, surrounded by vast moorland and the headwaters of Highland rivers. Also known as Càrn Ealar, this rounded mountain is commonly climbed with An Sgarsoch on a long journey from Linn of Dee. Estate tracks, lonely bothies, wet heath and sweeping ridges lead towards its quiet summit. From the top, wide views reveal distant Cairngorm peaks and a remarkable landscape of wilderness.
