About Càrn an Tuirc

Càrn an Tuirc rises above the Glenshee Pass in the eastern Cairngorms, its broad, stony summit overlooking sweeping moorland and neighbouring Highland peaks. Meaning Hill of the Wild Boar, it forms part of a popular four-Munro circuit with Cairn of Claise, Glas Maol and Creag Leacach. The walk crosses open plateaux, gentle ridges and rocky ground, rewarding walkers with expansive views and a memorable journey through the spacious, beautiful landscapes of the southern Cairngorms.
