About Càrn Dearg (Corrour)

Càrn Dearg rises above the remote moorland southeast of Loch Ossian, in the wild country around Corrour. Its name means Red Cairn, and its rounded summit is marked by a substantial stone cairn. Often climbed alongside Sgòr Gaibhre, the mountain offers sweeping views across Rannoch Moor, Ben Alder and neighbouring Highland ridges. The approach from Corrour railway station passes old tracks, open heather and boggy ground, creating a memorable journey into Scotland's quieter mountain landscapes.
