About Geal-chàrn (Drumochter)
Geal-chàrn is a peaceful Munro rising above the Drumochter Pass in the central Scottish Highlands. Its broad, rounded summit offers expansive views towards the Ben Alder mountains, Loch Ericht and surrounding Highland wilderness. Beginning near Balsporran Cottages, the route follows estate tracks and open moorland before reaching the summit cairn. Often climbed alongside neighbouring A' Mharconaich, Geal-chàrn provides an enjoyable mountain adventure, combining relatively gentle slopes, remote scenery and the tranquillity of Scotland’s beautiful upland landscapes.
