About Lochnagar

Lochnagar rises above Glen Muick in the eastern Cairngorms, renowned for its magnificent northern corrie, towering granite cliffs and dark mountain lochan. The popular ascent from Spittal of Glen Muick climbs past Meikle Pap before reaching the rocky summit of Cac Càrn Beag. Celebrated in poetry by Lord Byron and visited by Queen Victoria, the mountain offers spectacular views across Deeside and the Cairngorms. A circular descent passes the Glas Allt waterfall and Loch Muick.
