About Sgàirneach Mhòr
Sgàirneach Mhòr rises above Drumochter Pass, its broad grassy slopes leading to a summit overlooking dramatic Coire Creagach. The mountain is commonly climbed with neighbouring Beinn Udlamain, forming a rewarding circuit of open ridges and sweeping Highland views. From the summit, walkers can admire the Ben Alder hills, Loch Ericht and surrounding Drumochter mountains. Although close to the A9, its elevated ridges offer a welcome sense of space, quiet and exposure to the elements.
