About Sgòr Gaibhre
Sgòr Gaibhre rises above the remote moorland southeast of Loch Ossian, overlooking the vast wilderness of Rannoch Moor. Its rounded, grassy summit contrasts with steeper eastern slopes facing the Ben Alder mountains. Commonly climbed alongside Càrn Dearg, the route from Corrour railway station crosses wild heathery ridges, quiet glens and peaceful lochside tracks. From its summit, walkers enjoy magnificent views towards Schiehallion, Ben Alder and the surrounding Highland landscape, rewarding the journey into this secluded region.
