About The Cairnwell

The Cairnwell is one of Scotland’s most accessible Munros, rising above the Glenshee Ski Centre in the eastern Highlands. Its high starting point provides a relatively straightforward ascent, with sweeping views across the surrounding Cairngorms. Often climbed alongside Càrn Aosda and Càrn a’ Ghèoidh, the route combines broad mountain ridges, open moorland and impressive Highland scenery. Despite the visible ski infrastructure, The Cairnwell offers a rewarding introduction to Munro bagging and mountain exploration in Scotland.
