Our experience

A Lochside Café Stop

During my trip to Pitlochry, I stopped at Pitlochry Boating Station for a quick look around and something from the café. I hadn't planned any activities here, but the location beside Loch Faskally seemed like a lovely place to take a break.

I chose to sit outside, overlooking the water and the surrounding woodland. The loch made a beautiful backdrop, and it was nice to spend some time enjoying the scenery rather than rushing off to my next destination.

Over 100 Very Noisy Ducks!

The real entertainment, however, came from the enormous gathering of ducks swimming around the water. There must have been well over 100 of them, and they certainly weren't quiet!

The quacking was almost constant, with ducks paddling about in every direction. I couldn't help but sit and watch them, amused by the sheer number gathered in one place.

It was quite funny sitting beside such beautiful scenery while listening to what sounded like an endless conversation between hundreds of ducks. Not exactly the peaceful silence you might expect beside a loch, but entertaining nonetheless!

A Lovely Little Stop in Pitlochry

Although I only visited for the café, I really enjoyed stopping at the boating station. The views across Loch Faskally were lovely, and the ducks provided plenty of unexpected entertainment.

The boating station also offers fishing, boat hire and watersports for anyone wanting to spend more time exploring the loch.

It's a nice place to stop when visiting Pitlochry, whether you're planning an activity or simply looking for somewhere to enjoy a refreshment beside the water.
